Already Italian or an EU citizen? There's no visa, just registration at your comune.
Who it's for: Italian citizens (including dual citizens recognized by descent) and citizens of other EU countries.
Requirements
- Italian citizens abroad: transfer from AIRE to your new comune's anagrafe by declaring your residence there (within 20 days of moving)
- EU citizens: register at the comune after 3 months, with proof of work, or of sufficient resources and health insurance
- A registered lease or deed for your address; the vigili urbani will visit to verify it
- Get or update your codice fiscale, then enroll in the national health service (SSN) and choose a family doctor
- Set up SPID (digital ID) and an Italian bank account

- Registration is effective from your declaration; the verification visit usually happens within 45 days
